Introduced in March 1992, the new Corona made its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show, with a redesign to be larger, heavier and have the completely rounded aerodynamic shape of the 1990s. The five door model was called the Corona SF in Japan, while the station wagon became a separate line from 1993 called the Toyota Caldina. Production in Japan ended in 1995, but in Europe it lasted until the end of 1997, when it was replaced by the Avensis.
