The T140 entered production as a rear wheel drive sedan, coupe and wagon in January 1982, and was first introduced as a taxi with the 1.8 liter 1C diesel engine in January 1982. Production of the T130 ended in 1982, replaced by the T140 series. This was the first model year of the Toyota Corona (seventh generation, T140, T150 and T160), 1982 to 1986, which took over from the Toyota Corona (sixth generation, T130); the 1983 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Corona run from 1957 to 2001.
