Ford Fairlane (Americas)

Automobiles

The Fairlane was Ford's North American car for sixteen model years, named for Henry Ford's estate in Dearborn. It began in 1955 as the top of the full size range, replacing the Crestline, and from 1962 became an intermediate between the Falcon and the Galaxie, before the Torino name took over in 1971. The Australian Fairlane, a long wheelbase Falcon, has its own history and is not this model. Seven generations are recorded here. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 7 generations: the first generation (1955 to 1956); the second generation (1957 to 1959); the third generation (1960 to 1961); the fourth generation (1962 to 1965); the fifth generation (1966 to 1967); the sixth generation (1968 to 1969); the seventh generation (1970).
