Minor trim changes were introduced for 1967 as the Fairlane was mildly facelifted, and the Ranchero pickup on the same platform switched from the Falcon front end design to the Fairlane front end. Adapted across Ford's range, the Fairlane included federally mandated safety features such as an energy absorbing steering column with a large padded hub, soft interior trim, four way hazard flashers and a dual chamber braking system.
