The fourth generation of 1992 carried over the 1975 chassis with a completely redesigned body and interior, renamed the E-Series for 1999, and with the cargo and passenger vans retired in June 2014 when the Transit arrived. The E-Series then went on only as a cutaway and stripped chassis for upfitters, and by 2021 it had the 7.3 litre V8. Its model years run from 1992 to 2025. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
