For the 2009 model year Ford introduced a new interior for the E Series, with a larger instrument panel and an enhanced message center, and door panels embossed with the E Series name. The 4.6 litre and 5.4 litre engines gained flexible fuel capability for E85 that year. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
