The chassis cab configuration of the E Series was eliminated starting with the 2019 model year, leaving the cutaway and the stripped chassis. The 2019 E Series was sold only to upfitters, with a 6.8 litre V10 or 6.2 litre V8 gasoline engine that could burn natural gas or propane. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
