The BMW 7 Series is a range of full-size luxury sedans that has served as BMW's flagship model since the first generation, the E23, was introduced in 1977. Built across successive generations to showcase BMW's newest technology and engineering before it reaches other models, it competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and has been offered with both conventional combustion and, from the 2010s onward, hybrid and fully electric drivetrains.
