The F01 facelift, known as LCI, began production in July 2012 and these cars were sold as 2013 model year cars. They were unveiled at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and shown at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show. In late 2012 the ActiveHybrid 7 powertrain changed from the turbocharged V8 to the turbocharged 3.0 liter six of the 740i. The facelift was introduced to the F01 and F02 after four years of the model.
