The E32 was in its fifth year in 1990 and had a long list of firsts, among them the projector lens headlamps introduced in 1986. It was sold with straight six and V12 engines, and the V8 was still two years from arriving. The series was being built in Germany for the world market, with 311,068 E32s produced in total up to 1994. In 1990 the car stood in the middle of its production run of about eight years. It would be in production until April 1994.
