Mazda RX-7

Automobiles

The RX-7 was Mazda's rotary engined sports car, built from 1978 to 2002 in three generations with a compact, lightweight Wankel engine and a front mid engine, rear wheel drive layout. The first generation, the SA and FB, was a light two seater coupe; the second, the FC, was a heavier sport tourer that also came as a convertible; and the third, the FD, had a sequentially turbocharged 13B engine. More than 800,000 were built. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1978 to 1985); the second generation (1986 to 1991); the third generation (1992 to 2002).
