1991 Mazda RX-7

Automobiles

The second generation ended in 1991, with Mazda building a final run of 500 examples for 1992 for the domestic market only, and the limited Winning Limited was released in September 1991. The next generation RX-7 was announced in October 1991, production began later that month, and it went on sale in Japan in December. Mazda held its internal design contest among four studios for the new car. The development team led by Akio Uchiyama chose to focus on the American market.
