1989 Mazda RX-7

Automobiles

The Series 5, built for 1989 to 1992, brought updated styling and better engine management, lighter rotors and a higher compression ratio, and a minor change in April 1989 replaced the square rear lamps with three round lamps. To commemorate eight straight wins in the IMSA GTU class from 1980 to 1987, Mazda introduced the limited GTUs, a lightweight base model with turbo model brakes, seats and a viscous limited slip differential.
