Morris

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Morris is a British car marque founded by William Morris, who began as an Oxford bicycle maker and built his first car, the Morris Oxford Bullnose, at Cowley in 1913. Morris Motors grew into the biggest British car maker by the middle of the 1920s, with the Minor, the Oxford and the Cowley as its mainstays. It merged with Austin to form BMC in 1952, kept its separate identity until the Austin Rover Group dropped the name in 1984, and its trademark is held by SAIC today. A version of the Oxford was still made in India into the 2010s.
