1962 Morris Major

Automobiles

The Morris Major Elite, coded YDO1, was introduced in March 1962 and replaced the Series II, supplanting the Austin Lancer completely because of the rationalisation of the dealer network of BMC Australia, which now had BMC Centres only rather than separate outlets for each marque. A Series III Lancer had been considered right up to the introduction of the Elite. It had an enlarged 1622 cubic centimeter engine.
