Morris Major

Automobiles

The Morris Major and its twin the Austin Lancer were made in Australia by BMC Australia from 1958 to 1964, developed from the Wolseley 1500 and Riley One-Point-Five of Britain. Introduced in March 1958 with up to 98 percent local content, they were redesigned as the Series II in July 1959 with tailfins and more length, and the 1962 Major Elite replaced both with a 1622 cubic centimeter engine. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the Series I (1958 to 1959); the Series II (1959 to 1962); the Elite (1962 to 1964).
