Morris Major (Series II)

Automobiles

The Series II, coded DO1115, was released in July 1959 after the Series I had sold reasonably well and proved profitable thanks to shared components. It was thoroughly re-engineered, 9 inches longer with an extended wheelbase, tailfins and new front sheet metal, and styled along American lines. The axle and differential were modified after early rear axle failures that had hurt the brand image, and reviews were highly favourable. Its model years run from 1959 to 1962.
