The Toyota Mark II is a compact, later mid size sedan that Toyota manufactured and marketed in Japan between 1968 and 2004. Before 1972 it was sold as the Corona Mark II, and in most export markets Toyota sold it as the Cressida between 1976 and 1992 across four generations, before the front wheel drive Avalon replaced the rear wheel drive Cressida in North America. It was the top product at Toyopet Store locations until the Celsior arrived in 1989, and its siblings were the Chaser and the Cresta. The Mark II evolved into the Mark X, named for being its tenth generation.
