New for 1996 was the Grande Four, a four wheel drive variant of the Grande powered by the 1JZ-GE and mated to a 4 speed automatic sending power to the All-Trac drivetrain. The Cressida was sold until the 1996 model year in the Middle East. This was the first model year of the Toyota Mark II (eighth generation, X100), 1996 to 1999, which took over from the Toyota Mark II (seventh generation, X90); the 1997 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Mark II run from 1968 to 2004.
