Arriving in August 1984, the fifth generation dropped the Corona name in Japan and became simply the Toyota Mark II. The X70 station wagon was produced from November 1984, and in 1984 for the 1985 model year a new Cressida was introduced by Toyota. This was the first model year of the Toyota Mark II (fifth generation, X70), 1984 to 1987, which took over from the Toyota Mark II (fourth generation, X50 and X60); the 1985 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Mark II run from 1968 to 2004.
