Automobiles

First released in August 1988, the sixth generation Mark II was no longer the top level sedan at Toyopet Store locations in Japan with the introduction of the Toyota Celsior in October 1989. In 1990 the 1JZ-GE and the 280 PS 1JZ-GTE were introduced, replacing the 1G-GZE, and the GT model was available only with an automatic transmission.
