The Toyota Cresta is a mid size luxury car that Toyota built for five generations from 1980 to 2001. It shared its chassis with the Mark II, sold abroad as the Cressida, and the Chaser, and it was the top level car at the Japanese dealership channel Toyota Vista Store. Production stopped in 2001 when it was merged with the Chaser to form the short lived Verossa, and sales were discontinued in July 2001 after five generations and 21 years of history. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, X50 and X60 (1980 to 1983); the second generation, X70 (1984 to 1987); the third generation, X80 (1988 to 1991); the fourth generation, X90 (1992 to 1995); the fifth generation, X100 (1996 to 2001).
