Production of the Cresta ended in June 2001, and in July 2001, after five generations and 21 years of history, all inventory items were sold out and sales were discontinued. It was merged with the Chaser to form the short lived Verossa. It was the last model year covered for the Toyota Cresta (fifth generation, X100), 1996 to 2001, following the 2000 model year.
