The X70 series Cresta was introduced on 8 March 1984, now offered as a four door, four window hardtop sedan with a distinct, creased rear. The Cresta continued to be offered at Toyota Vista Store and visually remained the top level car. This was the first model year of the Toyota Cresta (second generation, X70), 1984 to 1987, which took over from the Toyota Cresta (first generation, X50 and X60); the 1985 model year follows it.
