Ford Bantam

Automobiles

The Bantam was a small coupe utility pickup, called a bakkie in South Africa, that Ford made there for the local market from 1983 to 2011. It was built in three forms, on the third generation Escort, on the Mazda 323 and on the fifth generation Fiesta, and was sold beside the Mazda Rustler twin. It served as a cheap and compact commercial vehicle and as everyday transport. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1983 to 1989); the second generation (1990 to 2001); the third generation (2002 to 2011).
