The Debonair was a four door executive sedan that Mitsubishi introduced in 1964 as its flagship passenger vehicle in Japan. Three distinct generations were available during a 35 year production run until it was discontinued in 1999 and replaced by the Proudia. The first and second generation models were built mainly for senior executives of the Mitsubishi Group and affiliated companies. The word debonair means gentle, courteous, suave, lighthearted or nonchalant. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1964 to 1985); the second generation (1986 to 1991); the third generation (1992 to 1999).
