The Debonair of 1980 was in its seventeenth year, the A33 series with the Astron 80 engine of 2,555 cc, the anti lock braking system, and the 2600 badge on the front grille. It remained a four door executive sedan, unchanged in appearance since 1964, used by senior executives of the Mitsubishi Group. Aside from a very minor export push in the 1960s, the Debonair was mainly sold in Japan. The Debonair was a four door executive sedan introduced by Mitsubishi Motors in 1964 as its flagship in the Japanese market.
