The Honda Prelude is a sport compact car produced by Honda over five generations from 1978 to 2001, and reintroduced in 2025. For the first five generations it was a two door coupe loosely derived from the Accord, and it was the first Honda to feature a moonroof, a feature that remained standard throughout its production. Honda used the Prelude to introduce the Japanese retail sales chain Honda Verno, and its name, originally trademarked by Toyota, was amicably given to Honda for use. The Prelude's manufacture concluded in 2001 on introduction of the fourth generation Integra. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 6 generations: the first generation (1978 to 1982 model years); the second generation (1983 to 1987 model years); the third generation (1988 to 1991 model years); the fourth generation (1992 to 1996 model years); the fifth generation (1997 to 2001 model years); the sixth generation (2025 and 2026 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
