CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. is a Chinese electric locomotive manufacturer and a subsidiary of CRRC. Its roots lie in the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works, founded in 1936. On 31 August 2005 CSR Group Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co was spun off from the locomotive works, which became an intermediate holding company for CSR Group only. When the listed company CSR Corporation was formed, the limited company became part of its listed portion and was renamed CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co. After CSR merged with CNR in 2015 it took its present name, and in 2019 it bought the locomotive manufacturing business of Vossloh. Its products include the Shaoshan series of electric locomotives, the Harmony HXD1 family licensed from Siemens, export locomotives for Iran, Kazakhstan and South Africa, intercity multiple units and metro cars. It also has joint ventures with Siemens for AC drive locomotives and traction components.
