The Shaoshan 6, abbreviated SS6, is a type of electric locomotive used on the national railway system of the People's Republic of China. It was the sixth Chinese electric main line locomotive and was built by the Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Works. Its overall arrangement is similar to the SS3, while its main circuit was influenced by the 6K, an electric locomotive imported from Japan. It takes industrial-frequency single-phase AC power and has a Co-Co axle arrangement. Two examples are preserved: SS6-0001 at the Zhengzhou Railway Driver College and SS6-0002 at the China Railway Museum. The text read for this entry gives no production dates, power or speed, so those facts are left to a further source.
