The KTM Class 94 is a type of electric multiple unit built for Keretapi Tanah Melayu and used on its intercity Electric Train Service, branded ETS 3. The Ministry of Transport called a tender in May 2020 for ten six-car sets, and CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, which had made the earlier Class 93, won it; two sets were to be built at its factory in China and the remaining eight at the CRRC factory in Batu Gajah, Malaysia. Each train seats 312, with 276 standard class and 36 business class seats. Compared with the Class 93 it has 14.2 percent better acceleration and 24.5 percent more tractive effort, and its auxiliary battery capacity of 640 A h is double that of the Class 93, letting emergency lighting and ventilation run for two hours without overhead power. The first set was completed on 8 June 2024, ETS 301 entered service on 30 August 2025 between KL Sentral and Kluang, and as of February 2026 all ten sets are in service.
