The Lancer Evolution, called the Lancer Evo or simply Evo, was a sports sedan and rally car based on the Lancer that Mitsubishi made from 1992 until 2016. There were ten official versions, numbered with Roman numerals, all with a two liter intercooled turbocharged four cylinder engine and all wheel drive. It was first intended only for Japan, and the Evolution VIII was exported to the United States in 2003 after the success of the Subaru Impreza WRX. Mitsubishi retired it in April 2016. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 10 generations: the Evolution I (1992 to 1993); the Evolution II (1994); the Evolution III (1995); the Evolution IV (1996 to 1997); the Evolution V (1998); the Evolution VI (1999 to 2000); the Evolution VII (2001 to 2002); the Evolution VIII (2003 to 2004); the Evolution IX (2005 to 2006); the Evolution X (2007 to 2016).
