The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, popularly called the Lancer Evo, LanEvo or Evo, is a sports sedan and rally car based on the Lancer, manufactured by Mitsubishi from 1992 until 2016. All generations use two liter intercooled turbo inline four cylinder engines and all wheel drive systems. The first Evolution was a Lancer GSR with the Galant VR-4 engine, sold in 1992 and 1993. The Lancer Evolution was a sports sedan and rally car based on the Lancer, made by Mitsubishi Motors from 1992 until 2016, with ten official versions.
