The letter series were Chrysler's high performance personal luxury cars of 1955 to 1965, built as a sub-model of the New Yorker and named for the 300 horsepower of the first car. Each model year after the C-300 of 1955 took the next letter of the alphabet, skipping the I, and the cars have been called the banker's hot rod and a forerunner of the muscle car, though larger and costlier. The last of the traditional series was the 300L of 1965. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 5 generations: the first generation (1955 to 1956); the second generation (1957 to 1959); the third generation (1960 to 1962); the fourth generation (1963 to 1964); the fifth generation (1965).
