Chrysler 300 letter series (first generation)

Automobiles

The first letter series cars were the C-300 of 1955 and the 300B of 1956, hardtop coupes built on the New Yorker with Chrysler's FirePower Hemi V8. The C-300 had a 300 horsepower 331 cubic inch engine, and its 100 Million Dollar Look styling combined a front clip from the Imperial, a midsection from a New Yorker hardtop and a rear quarter from the Windsor. The 300B followed with a new tailfin treatment and bigger engines, and became the first American car to make one horsepower per cubic inch. Its model years run from 1955 to 1956.
