The fifth generation of the letter series was the 300L of 1965, the eleventh and final model in the traditional line. It carried the completely restyled Chrysler body with crisp lines, slab sides and a tall greenhouse that Elwood Engel, the successor of Virgil Exner as Chrysler's head of styling, had introduced. The 360 horsepower engine could be paired with the TorqueFlite automatic or a no cost four speed manual with Hurst shift linkage, and the 300L was distinguished by round 300L medallions. Its only model year is 1965.
