The Kadett was a small family car that Opel produced before the war and again after 1962, originally Opel's smallest model but growing with each generation until it competed in the European C segment, rear drive up to the Kadett C and front drive after 1979, and succeeded by the Opel Astra. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 6 generations: the Kadett I, 1936 to 1940 (1936 to 1940); the Kadett A, 1962 to 1965 (1962 to 1965); the Kadett B, 1965 to 1973 (1965 to 1973); the Kadett C, 1973 to 1979 (1973 to 1979); the Kadett D, 1979 to 1984 (1979 to 1984); the Kadett E, 1984 to 1993 (1984 to 1993).
