The Kadett was reintroduced in 1962, with deliveries beginning on 2 October, a little more than 22 years after the original model was discontinued in May 1940. It was Opel's smallest model and the first of the postwar Kadetts. Its model years run from 1962 to 1965. The Kadett A came back to the Opel range in autumn 1962, more than twenty two years after the original model ended, as the smallest Opel again.
