Ford Escort (North America) (third generation)

Automobiles

The third generation Escort arrived for 1997 on the same Mazda designed chassis with new exterior and interior styling. Buyers could have only a sedan or a wagon, as the hatchbacks and the GT were retired, and a ZX2 coupe was added for 1998. It was the model the Focus replaced, so the sedan went to fleet sales only for 2001 and 2002, the last Escort sedan was built in June 2002 and the last ZX2 in June 2003, ending the Escort in North America. Each model year has its own page.
