The second Viper, the SR II, arrived in 1996 with the side exhaust pipes of the RT/10 roadster relocated to a rear muffler with two large tailpipes, which raised power. In the middle of the 1996 model year Dodge added the Viper GTS, a coupe with a double bubble roof for helmets, drawing on the Shelby Daytona. Power rose to 450 horsepower in 1997, airbags and power windows came in 1997, and an anti-lock braking system was added for 2001. The RT/10 and GTS were replaced in 2003 and 2006. Its model years run from 1996 to 2002.
