The first Viper ACR, the American Club Racer, was introduced as a package on the second generation 1999 Viper GTS, with Koni adjustable shocks installed for the 1999 model year and increased spring rates. The GTS-R racing car won its class at Le Mans again in 1999 and won the American Le Mans Series overall title with Oreca, and Zakspeed won the Nurburgring 24 Hours with a V8 powered Viper GTS-R. The ACR package also brought the track oriented setup that later became its own model.
