The Dodge Viper was in 2002 redesigned by DaimlerChrysler's Street and Racing Technology group, which took its cues from the Dodge Viper GTS-R concept shown in 2000, though the redesigned SRT-10 went on sale as a 2003 model. The 2002 car remained the last of the SR II generation, a roadster and coupe pair, and the Viper GTS-R won the Spa 24 Hours for the second consecutive year. The Viper had been on sale since 1992, and the SRT-10 that followed would be the third generation of the car.
