The RT/10 was replaced by the SRT-10 roadster in 2003, the first Viper of the third generation, the ZB I, with the sharp angled bodywork of the redesign by DaimlerChrysler's Street and Racing Technology group. The SRT-10 replaced both the GTS and the RT/10, and an even lighter and stronger aluminum space frame chassis was in development for the next generation but shelved because of Chrysler's financial crisis. The initial model introduced was a convertible.
