The 2001 models saw the addition of an anti lock braking system, the first time the Viper had been offered with that electronic aid. It was sold as the RT/10 roadster and the GTS coupe, with the 8.0 liter V10 and a six speed manual, and the Viper GTS-R racing cars won the Spa 24 Hours in 2001, as they did again in 2002, in back to back victories. The RT/10 and GTS were the only body styles, and both carried the roughly 450 horsepower V10 that the car had received in 1997.
