The Toyota Century covers full size luxury cars and limousines built mostly for Japan, where it is Toyota's flagship car, while globally the unrelated Lexus brand houses Toyota's flagship luxury model. Production began in 1967, and the model received only minor changes until redesigns in 1997 and 2018. It takes its name from the 100th birthday of Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of Toyota. The first generation had only a V8 engine, the second generation a V12 designed and built for it, and the nameplate introduced an SUV body style in 2023 before being spun off as a separate brand in 2025. Generations with their own pages on this site: the first generation, G20, G30 and G40 (1967 to 1996); the second generation, G50 (1997 to 2017); the third generation, G60 (2018 to 2022); the Century SUV, G70 (2023 to 2026).
