The Century received a complete redesign in April 1997, although the new model contained similar design cues to the previous generation. The second generation was only installed with a Toyota designed and built V12, an engine bespoke to the Century, until 2018. This was the first model year of the Toyota Century (second generation, G50), 1997 to 2017, which took over from the Toyota Century (first generation, G20, G30 and G40); the 1998 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Century run from 1967 to 2025.
