Production of the Century began in 1967, the year of the 100th birthday of Sakichi Toyoda, from whom the name derives, and it was Toyota's most luxurious model at its inception. The first generation was available with only a V8 engine, the third post war Japanese built sedan so equipped. This was the first model year of the Toyota Century (first generation, G20, G30 and G40), 1967 to 1996, the first generation covered for the Toyota Century; the 1968 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Century run from 1967 to 2025.
