The Town Car was Lincoln's full size luxury sedan from 1981 to 2011, taking its name from a limousine body style and replacing the Continental as the flagship in the Lincoln range. It was the longest car Ford produced from 1983, and was widely used for fleet and livery service. It used the Panther platform shared with the Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis and was built at Wixom, Michigan, until 2007 and then in Ontario. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 3 generations: the first generation (1981 to 1989); the second generation (1990 to 1997); the third generation (1998 to 2011).
