For 2007 the model line adopted restyled wheels, and 2007 was the last year of Town Car assembly at Wixom, Michigan, where it had been built since 1980 alongside the Continental, LS and the Mark series. As part of The Way Forward restructuring the Wixom plant closed after the 2007 production, and for 2008 production was transferred to Ford Canada. The third generation Town Car was the FN145, which was released for the 1998 model year.
