The square and straight lined Granada Mark II, known inside Ford as Granada 78, was released in August 1977 for the 1978 model year and built until April 1985. It was essentially a reskin of the 1972 car in the new design language of stylist Uwe Bahnsen, shared with the Cortina Mark IV and Fiesta. A facelift in September 1981 brought larger wraparound bumpers and a revised dashboard. It sold strongly in Britain and peaked as the seventh best selling car in 1979. Its model years run from 1977 to 1984.
